With the ability to have up to 24 spells at a time, you can send your heroes on missions and relieve them of their duties instantly without spending crowns.

Every spell is good for 30 minutes so most of the Places of Legends will require more than one spell. For example, the Well of Wishes takes 8 hours to explore so it will take 16 spells to complete it instantly.
